Gateway Community College offers general education and teacher education coursework that can be applied to a two-year degree, or be transferred to another college or university. Academic advisors assist students in the ongoing formation of educational plans and goals, and serve as a resource for accurate information. GWCC encourages students interested in teacher education to meet with an academic advisor regularly to discuss how GWCC can assist them in their quest to become a teacher or instructional aide.
The AGEC is designed for students who are planning to transfer to one of Arizona’s three state universities. The AGEC is a block of 35 required credits that satisfy the general curriculum requirements and may be applied to the graduation requirements for the majority of Arizona university majors.
The AAEE is designed for the student who plans to transfer to an Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education or Special Education program at an Arizona public higher education institution and/or who plans to become a classroom instructional aid. AAEE coursework transfers as a block with no loss of credit.
GWCC offers coursework for current teachers to apply towards a provisional and/or full SEI endorsement by the Arizona Department of Education. |
